Are the books not in chronological order all ready? Well yes, but in Deaths End Crisis Era 1-4 of Cheng Xin happen congruently with TDF Year 3, Crisis era. The main series (a song of ice and fire) goes as follows: A game of thrones, A clash of kings, A storm of swords, A feast for crows, A dance with dragons. These should be read in this order to make the most sense, as that's the chronological order. If you want to read Fire and Blood, go for it.
Game of Thrones always had a really big issue, its too complex and too big of a story to be easily made into a tv series.
